In this article, we will explain what Focom is, how it works, what features and benefits it offers, how to install and update it, and where to buy it. By the end of this article, you will have a clear idea of why Focom is the best professional software for Ford vehicles.
Focom is a diagnostic software that allows you to perform complete diagnostics of all 1995-present Ford vehicles. It comes with an OBD2 to USB interface that connects to your PC and communicates with the vehicles control units via the OBD-II connector (which is located near the steering wheel). Focom is designed to work on Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7/8/8.1/10 or Linux or Mac OS/X (using Wine emulation).
How does Focom work?
Focom works by accessing the vehicles electronic control units (ECUs) and reading their identification, fault codes, measured values, actuator tests, and programming functions. Focom supports nearly all the functions like the original dealer diagnostic tool. It can detect all Ford ECUs installed in the car and read all diagnostic fault codes with complete description (e.g. Rail pressure - too low pressure). It can also clear fault codes and reset or program ECUs after car repair or configuration. Focom can display live data like engine speed, battery voltage, oxygen sensor, coolant temperature, etc. in graph, 9 values at once, or full listing mode. It can also log data to file for offline analysis. Focom can activate particular actuator (e.g. turn on fuel pump, lock/unlock wheel, lock/unlock doors, cut off fuel, etc.) for testing purposes.
